Barstow to Needles

How is the drive on I40 from Barstow to Needles and also down the 95 to Blythe? 40 ft motorhome towing a Jeep.

Excellent. They resurfaced 40 a few years ago, before that 40 was HORRIBLE.

95 south from Needles is good road, all one lane. Do a potty stop before you get on it as there aren't many places to pull off the road. Ask me how I know.

Roads are great. Don't get fuel in Needles because it's too expensive. We normally fuel up in Kingman

Is Blythe your final destination? If going into Arizona, take AZ95 rather than CA95. It's a prettier drive through Lake Havasu down to Parker along the river. Nice state parks there, also. Continue on AZ95 to I-10, if needed.

Just depends on your final destination.

Agree on taking AZ95 rather than the California side. The California side has lots of whoop-de-doos, blind hills and stomach churning dips, our cats always throw up on that road!
We prefer the Lake Havasu City traffic lights to the whoop-de-doos 🤢
