Been to Chaco Canyon?

After getting our RV out of the shop, we would like to take a trip to New Mexico's Chaco Canyon in the very near future.
Have tried to search the forum, but did not see much about it.
From what little I have read, it is a "bear" to drive there to Gallo Campground, rough roads.
Driving a 33' class A, pulling a toad.
Please for information.
Thanks

Find a place to park outside the park and drive the toad.

You just got your RV out of the shop & you want to drive to Chaco Canyon?

However, here's the NP's website on it and Fall is the best time to go because of temperatures. Watch the forecast carefully and don't drive it if wet.

We lived in New Mexico for many years and visited Chaco Canyon several times. It's an awesome place and we still stop in when we are in the area. My advice - don't even think about taking your motorhome there! 16 - 17 miles of extremely rough, sandy, soft road, and the campground is more accommodating to small units and tents. mickeybitsco hit it... park the motorhome in Bloomfield and drive your toad to Chaco. But do see it while in the area. It is well worth the effort.

Thanks for the advice. I was really dubious about trying to drive to the park.
Will definitely only drive the toad in in good weather!
