I've got to go to Fairmont Hot Springs in June for a wedding. Looking at Google Maps I have several choices:
- HW 1, with an optional shortcut on 5 through Kamloops, and then south on 95
- HW 3 along the border to 95 and then north.
- Over to Spokane and CDA and north on 95 through Bonners Ferry and Cranbrook.
HW 3 looks like it would be slow going towing a trailer.
I've never been further east than Hope on HW 1, so that's an unknown. I'm very familiar with all routes to Bonners Ferry.
Your thoughts? Other options I should consider? Any good places to stop for a night on the northern route?
