Best route from Mt Rushmore to Yellowstone
Thinking about leaving Mt Rushmore and spending a week in Yellowstone National Park. Do anyone have reccommedations for best roads.
Driving a 42 ft class A with tow
Like to avoid curvey steep incline/decline roadways
Like a couple rest areas on the way.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you looking to do that now? Yellowstone at this time of year wouldn't be my first pick.

With our 40' motorhome towing the Jeep we've always taken I-90 to Buffalo, WY. Then pick up Hwy 16 W to Worland and north on 20 to Greybull then West on14 into Cody and the east entrance to Yellowstone.

I think most of the park roads in Yellowstone will be closed this time of year. Even a lot of the roads leading to Yellowstone can be impassable. You can check road condition in WY on the internet, and the Nation Park Roads should be list on the Yellowstone web page. Like post #2 said, really bad idea!

Last time I visited took I90 to Bozeman and 191 to West Yellowstone where my reservation was. Easy drive though a little longer than through Cody.

On way out of Rushmore, stop at Sturgis and see Ft Meade. Then head to Belle Forche (center of USA) pick up US 212 head west to I90 which intersects at the Little Big Horn National Battlefield (well worth stopping). Here is a big decision--drop south towards Sheridan and take US 14 over the Big Horns and Dayton WY, or go North on i90 towards Billings and Bozeman. Great campground just both or YNP in Livingston MT (base out of hear and use the toad). Don't forget to travel the Chief Joseph HWY and the Bear Tooth Pass! Not enough hours in the week for just one around YNP. Cody WY has the Buffalo Bill museum and it is a minimum 2 day stop (largest gun museum west of D.C.)
