Best Route from Myrtle Beach to I95 North?

Took my car to Myrtle Beach area from CT. My GPS seemed to take me through back roads and even some neighborhoods. Is there a best way to get back to I95 heading north that may include some highways?
Thanks for all input.

Highway 501 from MB to I95. You might want to check the settings on your GPS that it is set for major roads..................

X2 on Sue46. Just get on US501 from MB through Conway, and it’s about 70 miles to pick up I-95 at Dillon. For a good portion of those miles 501 is good, double-barreled highway.

Having a GPS is a nice benefit but I always look at a map, either online or paper.

Thanks Folks

Your directions worked great. Was up to I95 in less than 1 1/2 hours. Now if I only thought to stay away from Washington DC on a Friday afternoon.

Next time tell us your end point and we might have better suggestions a to route. Many times the interstate is not the best solution.

Depending on exact location in Myrtle Beach, Route 17 north towards Wilmington, I140 (new) to I40 to I795 towards Goldsboro NC. You join I95 in Wilson. Very little traffic once you clear Myrtle Beach
