Best Route from New Orleans to Nashville?

We're traveling from New Orleans to Nashville on March 1. Any input on best route would be appreciated.

Assuming you want to travel on highways, take I-59 to I-20, I-20 to I-65 into Music City.

JT gave you the best route but I think that when you get to Birmingham on I-20/59 take I-459 around the south side. It's a better ride than going through the center of the city.

If you want the most scenic and not the fastest drive up the river road to Natchez MS then take the Natchez trace parkway (50 mph speed limit) all the way to the southside of Nashville

You can also take I-55 to I-40. Might even be a little quicker with just Jackson and Memphis to navigate. Not a big fan of Birmingham, Just came through there Thursday and Monday. Lot of construction around the I-65/I-20 split. Been that way for a couple of years. I go through there about six times a year. I-459 will add quite a bit to your transit of BHM. I-59 and I-20 are the same concrete to the I-65 split too.

If you go through Memphis, take I-240 around to the east.

If you have lots of time, see if you can take the Natchez Trace.
