I need to make a trip from NJ to the L.A. CA area at the end of October 2006. I was thinking of taking interstate route 81 south to interstate route 40 west near Knoxsville. Then all the way to CA Route 15 south. Is this a good way to go? This trip I will be leaving the RV home, and moving my daughters posessions and car via a Penske truck. Any advice or thoughts will be appreciated.

We have used that route returning from So Cal. It's about the most direct, good highway for the most part and except for OK City avoids hassle of the large cities.

Good route, just avoid going south on I-15 from Las Vegas on a holiday or any Sunday. Los Angeles is moving back to LA after a weekend in Vegas and the traffic is bumper to bumper for many, many miles.
