Best route from Salmon, Idaho to Jackson, Wyoming

We are going to be traveling in a motorhome towing a trailer from Salmon, Idaho to Gros Ventre Campground. Wondering what is the best way to go and try to avoid scary mountain roads. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Avoid tieton pass.
Goes directly into Jackson, but 10% grade both sides.
Hope you have reservations, as that campground is now reservations only. No fist come , first served sites anymore. This changed about a month ago.

260 miles - 28 to 33 to I-15 south toward Idaho Falls. 20/26 east toward Swan Valley to Alpine. North on 89 to Jackson.

If your mapping directs you toward Victor and then 22 (Teton Pass) into Jackson don't do it. 31/33 into Victor to 26 is easy but not 22.

Good, large groceries, laundry and easy fuel islands on left before getting into Jackson.

I concur with 2Gs route. Though I went over Teton Pass I have a 23 motorhome and nothing in tow so it wasnt a problem for me.

We stayed in Salmon last Labor Day. Stayed at Century II campground just outside the village. Older park and well maintained but tight for anything longer than 40

In the Village our favorite place was Two Guys bakery, awesome croissants! On 28 you have a ~75 mile stretch between Leadore and Terreton where there is no gas stations and wide areas of no cell service. Best to top off tanks in Salmon.
