Best route to MO
I everyone, we are planning a trip to Purina Farms in Eagle Summit, MO at the end of Oct from Va. Our rte takes us across 64, but I hear the bridge is out in St Louis. Anyone out there have a better route for us to avoid delays?
Thanks!

The Bridge crossing the Ohio river at Louisville will be closed for at least 3 weeks. Traffic is re-routed to I65 N, to I265 W, back to I64 W. You will find the information here. Keep checking that website for current information. If you are not in a hurry to get to MO, time your arrival to this area on a week day, after morning rush traffic, before noon, and before time for workers to head home; or on Sunday. Locals will likely be avoiding the area and driving back-roads as much as possible. I say that because I 65 on the INdiana side has ongoing construction work.
Sadly, there is no good alternative for large vehicles. Good luck and stay safe.

What about taking I-264 down and around? We're going to Joplin in mid October. Wouldn't that miss all the downtown Louisville traffic?

No, I 264 re-joins I 64 East of the bridge that is closed. I 265 is the best option for bypassing the closed bridge.
There are other routes that are usable, but for those unfamiliar with the area they are not a wise choice.
Monitor the TRIMARC website for current information.

There is some construction on I64 just east of the river in Illinois but its not too bad. Personally I get off 64 at I255 and go south to the JB Bridge. 255 turns into 270 where it crosses I55. Keep on 270 to I44 west. That will avoid all the construction in the area and the downtown traffic. Purina farms is just off I 44.
FYI I toured their new facility just before they opened. It's really nice with some full hookups in the back.

We made it back from Missouri safe and sound, with both the van and Mona no worse for the wear, just a little dirty! Thanks for all your advice. Our GPS had a nice detour feature on it so no delays getting around the bridge!
