Best Weather Reports

Wow, supposed to pull out of Troy, AL today and head to our next stop in Southaven, MS. Seeing multiple weather sites saying bad weather all day throughout areas we are traveling and a few reports saying spotty storms only. Never sure what to believe but safety is key and wondering if we should stay an extra day here.

What have you found to be the best/most accurate weather reporting sites?

Prog charts

Scroll down to "surface chart"

Granted, this is (literally) the 10,000-foot-view. Which is helpful sometimes, and not something you always get from TWC

I get it. Driving in lousy weather is a drag

I find that websites like are fine for an overall view but when I want specifics for an area or city I typically go to the local Fox station and click on their weather. I find they are much more specific on length of storms, how heavy they are, etc.

If I were concerned I would put any travel off a day but we full time and getting "there" is never critical.

I use Accuweather app
Wife uses Weather Channel app
We watch Weather Nation on TV, it 24/7 weather.
Also, Weather Nation has an app with live weather you can stream to your phone, 24/7
Some Cities have Weather Nation OTA, I know they have a over the air channel in Toledo.
Can’t take the reality shows on the Weather Channel anymore.

Another vote for Ventusky. Allows you to see wind and temperature and more on a map. You can look at it hour by hour, day by day. Example.. Last month I had to cross a mountain in the next few days and it allowed me to see an 8 hour break in the wind and sleet that gave me an easy 6 hour drive starting at 6am. Parked when done And 90 minutes later the skies opened up and the wind howled.
