Best winter route From Eastern Washington to Death Valley

Hi folks! I’d like to travel to Death Valley in a couple weeks...2nd or 3rd week of February from Spokane Wa.

I’m looking for the roads least likely to have snow on the roadway.

Which route should I use?

Thank you!

I live in Layton Utah right off I-15. I am leaving for my mom's winter quarters in Laughlin NV next week. Her summer quarters are in Chewelah, just north of you. She likes to do 395 to Kennewick, I-84 to I-15. I like I-90 to I-15. Either way, I feel the more major routes are lower altitudes and better cared for. You can go 395 all the way there, it might be prettier, but I'd feel it might be slower and more weather problems.

You might want to check to see if the park is open as some of the campgrounds are closed.

Be lucky you're not leaving now! Big storm on the route down.

The park will be open with camping beginning Jan 29.

Thanks! I was born and raised in Chewelah!

I15 is what I was thinking, but unsure concerning minida pass. (Sp?) I assume through Utah would be kept pretty clear .

I was also wondering about hiway 50...never been on that road...

Just watched a documentary on Death Valley. Sure perked our interest to check it out. Plus, I could use a good thawing out....

I sure want to avoid slick and snow covered roads . While I drove semis for 20 years, I grew tired of driving on bad road conditions...takes the fun out of a vacation trip!
