Boston to Dover DE
I am planning on leaving this coming Sunday [6sept] driving a 35' class A with a Wrangler Toad height is about 13 feet.
I have made the trip many times but this will be the first(And longest) in the RV. trying not to stress too much.
i am Wondering the best route to take from here. i am very familiar with I-287 and the tappanzee bridge.
Route suggestions please
Greg

Sounds like you know the way - biggest issue is timing/traffic.
We have done that run often with no problem.
Best of Luck,

Once across the T/Z, just connect with 287 to the NJTP - the usual congestion up north but once you get south of Trenton it's pretty clear. I-295 around Philly is under construction so stay on the 'pike. At the Del Mem Bridge, be aware of the slowdown after the toll booths for I-95 SB traffic - so stay RIGHT for US 13 south. Then US-13 south to DE 1 (Veterans Highway). DE 1 is a nice new road straight shot to Dover.

We live on the Cape, whenever we go south or west we take the Pike to I-84 west to Scranton then you would take I-476 south to Philly. That avoids ALL the NYC mess, roads, traffic and tolls.

Thanks!
We made it no problems.
I took 90 to 84
to 684 to 287W(tappanzee bridge)
to garden state pkway
to NJ Turnpike(95)
to Del MEM bridge
to 1 south
Great ride except for several aggressive drivers, cutting me off etc... the route added some miles to my trip but it was worth it avoiding 95 in CT and NY

Only real issues are the tolls and depending upon the time of day, the traffic, but certainly a good route.

Greg.... If you have a moment, could you comment on the current road quality on 684 south from Brewster to White Plains and 287 across the Tappan Zee? It's been a couple of years since I've been through there. I've avoided it because 684 south was just awful. How is it now?
Thanks!!
