Brookings OR to I-5 route

We are roughing out a trip from CA to Yachats OR and then down to Brookings OR. In looking at the map for coming back, I don't see a good route to go east from Brookings to I-5 (our next stop will be Redding CA)

Does anyone know the best route east, and about how long this will take in a MH?

Are you intending to go north or south on I5?
Best is to drop down into CA and take 199 NE to Grants Pass. If your heading south head on down to I believe it is CA20 around Clear Lake.

Brooking to Grants Pass along Hwy 199 is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. It's really pretty (but some slow curves) along the far west end, but it speeds up the further east you go.

Going south, the next major road east off the coast is Hwy 299. That will take you from Arcata right to Redding. Figure a bit more than 3 hours for that one...
