We will be at the Grand Canyon at the end of the first week of July. We will be towing a 25 foot Camper. From the Canyon we are heading for Stockton and need a place at Barstow, Mojave or Tehachapi for a overnight. Doesn't have to be fancy just safe. Any input is apreciated. Thanks.

We stayed at a small campground at the Tehachapi Airport 3 years ago. It was pretty nice and MUCH cooler than Barstow or Mojave. There was NO air traffic and it was a mile or so off Hwy 58 so no vehicle traffic noise. We just found it via a road sign.

There is a KOA on I-15 on the north side of Barstow, and another one called Shady Lane RV park in the same area. You can find info and directions on www.woodalls.com. We haven't stayed at either, but they are close to town and had good reviews.

We have overnighted at Twin Lakes in Newberry Springs, just east of Barstow on I-40. However, it was very deserted and remote and we plan to go to one of the other parks when we pass through that area again.

If you were willing to drive another 40 miles or so there is a wonderful RV park east of Bakersfield call the Orange Grove RV park as the name states it is in the midst of an orange grove...just off Gwy 58 at Edison. Listing in Trailer Life.

Try this website for some ideas. I've listed California, so just click on the city (s) and reviews will come up... smiles!

Ronnie is right...and the oranges are due for picking...they allow you to pick a few oranges for your own personal use while you are there. "Easy off - Easy On" freeway access and the staff had been great everytime we have stayed there. The sites are easy to get in and out off... I think almost all are pull-through and big enoungh that you don't have to unhook the toad.

Hope you have a great trip ...and good luck finding that right campground!
