Calif to Elkhart and Return via Branson and Dallas Ft Worth

This is going to be long but I thought it would be very shortsighted of me not to solicit the expertise of this community. We will be taking off the 2nd week of September for a 5400 mile road trip encompassing about 7 weeks. Leaving Anaheim, CA and proceeding to Fresno, CA via caravan with a friend. After a night in Fresno, we will proceed to Plymouth, CA for 5 days at the Thor Diesel Club fall rally in Plymouth. Departing Plymouth for Elkhart/Goshen, IN for the Thor International Rally. Plan to travel to Elkhart via Interstate 80 with a very few minor deviations. We will be making overnight stops in Winnemucca, NV, Park City, UT (2 nights), Elk Mountain, WY (middle of nowhere just to catch some sleep), North Platte, NE, Omaha, NE (for a couple days), Davenport, IA, and in to Elkhart, IN.
Leaving Elkhart, we plan to stop in the following locations for anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days. Springfield, IL, Hannibal, MO, Hamilton, MO, Independence, MO, El Dorado Springs, MO (visit wife’s friend), Branson, MO (for about 5 days), Ft. Smith, AR, Decatur, TX (visit family/relatives for about 5 days), Amarillo, TX, Santa Fe, NM (for a couple days) Holbrook, AZ, Kingman, AZ and finally arriving back in Anaheim.
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Altering the route for a worthwhile opportunity is doable. I didn’t include the highways that I plan to use on my return trip in the interest of brevity but they are documented in my trip planning. So, please all you well versed travelers, fire away.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.

You might consider a stop at Palo Duro Canyon which is a little south of Amarillo. It is the 2nd largest canyon in the nation, and temps that time of year should be favorable. It is a real pretty place.

Also, Santa Fe Skies is a very nice RV park in Santa Fe.

Seeing as how you are close,a stop in Shipshewana,IN is worth it. Nice Amish community all around. Lots of quilt stores scattered around.

Thanks Tom & Don, I have had similar feedback on each of these places. I will have a few extra days in Indiana so we will likely check out the Amish community as you suggested. We may be able to squeeze in Palo Duro as well. Thanks to each of you for taking the time provide me with your thoughts. Very much appreciated.
