Am considering taking CA-78 from the Poway, CA area to Borrego Springs driving a 36 foot motorhome towing a Saturn. Dumb idea? Is it doable? Would appreciate any info you can provide.

Red,
If it was me,,, NO.. I like the side of my RV just where they are. Not stuck on some rocks. That is a sweet drive if you in a car or motorcyle. I take 76 to the 79 to S-22. That is where I tow my 38'5er going to Ocotillo Wells.
I also love flying into Borrego Springs. Buffalo Burgers at the AirPort Cafe. But, thats a differant toy and forum.
Have fun and enjoy the view, it is great!

Thanks, Aviator. If I read you correctly, there shouldn't be a problem with a 36 foot MH.

On March 17th, I asked:<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Am considering taking CA-78 from the Poway, CA area to Borrego Springs driving a 36 foot motorhome towing a Saturn. Well, on the 20th, I can say that it's no problem! The road is smooth, well marked, and except for the 12 mile long 8 percent downgrade in to Borrego Springs, it's a nice drive. The wild flowers are at their peak, and beautiful!
