California coast trip

We are traveling San Diego to San Francisco in our 35' Motorhome in May. Our route takes us Hwy 101. Planning stops at Newport Beach, Pismo Beach, Marina, before ending at Marin Park RV Park. Any recommendations about route and stops would be appreciated.

Santa Cruz Redwoods is very nice. Is just a few hours before SF.

Morro Bay & Hearst Castle are on Hwy 1 accessed from San Luis Obispo. You would have to return to Hwy 101 to continue North as Hwy is still closed before Carmel.

I'd stay off PCH between Dana Point and Newport. Take either I-5 to 405 to Jamboree Exit and to the Dunes, as I assume you are camping there for a night or two? That stretch of PCH can be very tight with a lot of traffic on PCH in the Laguna Beach area. Not big truck or RV friendly.
