California HWY 101

I'm planning a trip to the West Coast this summer and would like to take HWY 101 from wine country to Eureka and possibly on into Oregon. I'm driving a 40 ft MH and am pulling a F-150 pickup truck. Is the stretch of highway I'd like to take suitable for what I'm driving? Thanks in advance to any advice.

Followed 101 last year all the way up with no trouble except for the problems noted on the CaltTran site mentioned above. As you can see from my signature, my rig is much like yours.

The road is a little tight in places, but we would go again. It is a very pretty drive. Take your time, enjoy the scenery and you should be oK.

Plan on stopping at sea Perch RV resort for a few days. Just north of Florence or and right on the beach.

Be sure to stop to see the redwoods; Newton B Drury - Redwood Scenic Parkway, Trinidad/McKinleyville/Orick, Humboldt County, California

View Map | Avenue Of The Giants

Because of the scenery, do both in your toad.

101 is a major north south highway. you will have no problem on it just don't confuse cal 1 with 101 and you will be fine in cal and oregon just lots of rubber neckers
