Class A's through Zion Tunnel

Hi, my family and I are looking to take a trip to Utah this summer and spend a couple nights in Zion. We will be taking our 2011 Allegro 35 QBA. The height on the RV is 12' 10" and the tunnel height is 13' 1". Has anyone taken a comparably sized Class A through the tunnel? I want to make sure we are cutting it to close and that it's realistic for us to make it through.

We have done the tunnel in and out of Yosemite in our RV without issue, but want to make sure Zion is realistic.

Thanks,
Stefanie

We went through the tunnel last Sept., but our 5er is only 12'2", so that doesn't help you much.

We spent a week in Zion, and loved it. Then, after we went to Cedar Breaks, and Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef, we were left wondering what it was that we had liked about Zion. We will go back to the others, but not to Zion.

We went through it in June. We are 12'10". Plenty of room. You pay a fee and go through it alone , thereby being able to stay in the middle.

You will be driving down the center where it's much higher than the sides. You won't have any problems. What the "escort" means is that they block off traffic coming from the opposite direction so that just you are driving through. It's a easy process. No one really "escorts" you through - don't know why they use this term. Have a good trip.

Curious how much the "fee" was.

It's $15 for the escort and it's good for two passes through. They will stop and check you at the entrance. This is in addition to your entrance fee. The Geezer card is honored for entrance but not for the escort. The wait is short, but you are limited to length as well as height. We are 65' and max length is 45' due to the turns inside the tunnel. We had no problem but had to drive the car through separately. Take it slow and stay in the middle..I am 13' at the dome...Dennis

Hi. I thought the limit was forty feet. I there some forgiveness ? I also have a forty five foot with a toad. I figured I would have to unhook the tow but wasn't with if I was even allowed to go through

Your help is greatly appreciated

Prevost tour buses go through all day long. You'll have to disconnect toad.

We are going to be staying at Watchman Campground in June. Do we have to go through the tunnel to get to the campground?

Not if you come and go from the South entrance.

I saw this nps publication and it said 40' which is the root cause of my concern. My height is 12.7 but length without toad is 45 feet. I also saw a visitors guide which didn't say anything about length except for combined length of 50 feet which is prohibited. So sounds like ill be okay. I altered my whole route due to this publication

You can always call the park and speak with a ranger. Here is the contact info.
