Closed Rest areas

Internet says the rest areas in Arkansas are still closed. Any updates from the road ? I am planning a trip first of June from Houston area to Western New York. Thanks

That is interesting.

When the lockdowns first started in March, 2020, I was attending my mom's funeral in Baton Rouge. When we left to drive home, the lockdowns were really hitting hard, we stopped at THE rest area on I-49 between Lafayette and Alexandria. All of the fast food places were shut down, not a lot of places to use the restroom. The cleaning attendant was there, and while I waited for my wife, she commented to me that she had never seen the rest area so busy. I told her, "you are the only game in town, everyone is stopping here."
