Cody WY to West Glacier
Need advice on best route from Cody to W Glacier for a 43' DP with toad in early August. I'm considering Hwy 83 past Swan lake or I90 via Missoula and Flat Head Lake

I90 would be the better route.
We are in Cody right now, hosting the Buffalo Bill State Park!

From I-90 at Garrison, we have traveled US-12 to Avon, north on MT-141, west on MT-200, north on MT-83 & MT-35 to Evergreen then back south along the east side of the lake on MT-35 and US-93. North was a very scenic drive through the valleys and I don't recall any issues with our 45' coach going either direction. If you go to Avon, plan to stop at Avon Family Cafe for a Huckleberry Milkshake. Here is a comment from my blog-"After leaving Sandie and Jim in Avon, we drove up the beautiful valley past several gorgeous mountain lakes and through the towns of Seeley Lake and Swan Lake but since all of the scenery was on my side, we didn't get photos."
I can't help with getting from Cody to I-90.

This would be close to the route we would take - https://binged.it/2ruw0hU - to drive all that way and put myself on the Interstate, just not my cup of Tea.
Just to much to see and do along the way.
JMHO,

I agree I'm not interested in driving all interstate we enjoy doing back roads when possible

Slip your way thru West Yellowstone, then head over to Virginia City (pretty rustic old mining town still occupied), Ennis, and down to Lewis & Clark Caverns. There are curves and mountains, but certainly doable and summer sees a lot of rv's of all sizes on that route. You can get to Clearwater Junction either going thru Missoula or an alternate route thru Helena (pretty steep pass on this one) then on the route mentioned above thru Seeley Lake over to Big Fork-which puts you on Flathead Lake. If you're in a rush, take I-90 (which has some pretty sites as well) but if you don't mind a slower pace with interesting little towns and some tighter curves then the guys above are right on the money. They take semi trailers thru there to supply those towns, as well as logging trucks so you shouldn't have a problem with your coach, the key is to slow down. Weekends the traffic can be fairly heavy from Clearwater to Seeley, but nothing drastic. That whole route you've got planned, whichever way you go, should be very nice. Keep a good eye out for deer, elk, goats (the wild ones), bear or moose as they often like to cross the road at their own leisure and aren't good about using crosswalks.
