I would just offer that if you travel Rt. 128 in between the rush hour periods, it's not a bad drive. I used to live in Hingham, and we have family on the South Shore and camp at Wampatuck SP in Hingham when we visit, and I take Rt. 128 from the Mass Pike down to Hingham in our Class A w/toad whenever we go there. I just think that taking I-495 the long way around really isn't worth it. But, your choice, either way, it's not a terribly long day from/to Concord. The only caveat to that is in the summer Thurs. night and most of Friday heading to the Cape is bad, most likely either route, so plan your travel days/times accordingly.
