Cortez, Co to Zion NP
Is there a simple way to get to Zion NP from Cortez, Co with a 35’ MH towing a Jeep? Looking at maps, it seem you either have to drop way south of Kanab and loop back up to the park, or go way north to the interstate and drop south. I do see a road going through the mountains that seems to get you there, but am really looking for experiences going this route. Timeframe is early September.

You can go Hwy 160 to Tuba City, 89 north to 89Alt, then 89Alt to Fredonia. From Fredonia, you can take AZ389 to Colorado City, which then becomes UT89 on into Hurricane. It's not a bad road at all as we went that way a few years ago. You do not want to take Hwy 9 from Mt Carmel. There is a 1.1 mile long tunnel going into Zion NP. You have to pay a fee, wait for them to stop traffic then ride the center of the roadway through a low clearance tunnel. Total overall length of 50' is strictly enforced as the rangers will measure. Vehicles over 13'1" are not allowed and your antennas would probably rub the ceiling since you are at 12'10 to the top of the A/Cs. Others may chime in that you are okay, but I would never take anything larger than a Class C through there unless it's an older shorter coach. Spend a day or two in Page AZ as there is a lot to see there such as Lake Powell, Colorado Riverboat tours, Antelope Canyon, etc.

No Matter how you choose to go - include Mexican Hat - Gooseneck - Monument Valley - Page - Horseshoe Bend - Jacob Lake - North Rim - Zion.
Put all those in to the Mapping App and it's Easy,
So much to see - just need to Take the Time.

Thanks to the two of you for the help and info. Always good to have help from someone who has already been that way!

Or take 160 to 98 up through Page and on to Kanab.
162 up through Montezuma Creek is absolutely horrible road. Stay off of it.
