Can you drive Zion-Mount Carmel Highway to see zion? We have a dog and I don't like to leave her long or be unable to not have access to my car with the shuttle. I don't want to make that journey to Zion and not be able to see it. How long is the shuttle? So are you saying there is no way to be able to see Zion by toad? TIA

Sure you can drive the highway in your car. You would not be able to leave the dog in the car when taking the tram. First, it's probably not allowed and secondly, it too long and gets too hot.

Most things to easily see is by taking the tram through the canyon to the end. There are hiking trails along the way and you can get on and off the tram... catching the next one coming by. You can drive into Zion and head over to Springdale way then do a return trip to Hwy 89. There is plenty of beauty to see along the drive and pull-offs to take pics.

Definitely don't pass it up even if you don't do the tram.

I would "highly" recommend the RV trip Wizard for your itinerary planning. I used it for the first time last fall when I was setting up a month long trip to the New England states, meeting with two other Class A RV's in PA and heading up and over to Bar Harbor ME and down the coast. It was an awesome tool not only for the route preference info, but for the campgrounds and all the reviews and tips and helpful info on each location that so many people post... I was extremely impressed and very glad I made the move to try it. Everything we did, and every place we stayed met our expectations and there were no surprises. You can do so much more homework from that one app... I would encourage you to try it. You will not regret it. Makes the planning not only easier, but much more fun and more thorough too.
