Ct to Zion National Park Ut

New to rving last year and planning to visit Zion National Park (Watchman Campground) and the Grand Canyon South Rim next fall. Then taking a southern route home. Any suggestions and tips on the best route would be welcome. My wife and I are towing a 19' Gulfstream Vista Cruiser with a Dodge Ram and plan to leave Ct in early Sept and figure on being gone for a month +or-
Thanks

Ct. to Zion is a long trip. There are a lot of things to see and do along the way. Even if it's only a drive by. You need to decide whether or not you are comfortable driving in the mountains. We have taken I-80 and I-70 to Utah. I-70 (mountains) is as beautiful as it can get. Especially if you are there during the leaf change. I-80 will have you skirt the mountains and will bring you into Utah at Salt Lake City. I-15 will take you south.

If you have the time it is worthwhile stopping at the big 5 national parks. Zion, Bryce, Arches, Capitol Reef, and Canyonland

Thanks for your advise. With a small trailer like we have I think we'll okay in the mountains and it sounds like it's worth it. Luckily we have 10 months to check out the other places you mentioned. We plan to make a couple site seeing stops along the way to break up the driving, we're both retired and enjoy American history any suggestions

I prefer 70 out to Colorado. 84-81-80-76-71-70. There are modest tolls in Kansas and you avoid the South side of Chicago which can be brutal.

Leaving in September - suggest you try to time it to be driving through Colorado in late September - it will allow you to see and enjoy the Aspen turning Golden, Unbelievably Beautiful, well worth the timing that is required.

Late September is perfect for Colorado - October will be Great in Utah and Arizona as September is usually still pretty warm, so timing is critical, for enjoying the SouthWest.

From Connecticut I'd head to Hannibal and take RT 36 out to Colorado, if this sounds interesting let me know I'll post a great map and Images that will help, just trying to suggest a way to just make this Fun.

JMHO,
