Well, depending g on where in Dallas your starting out - DO NOT do anything that takes you on I635 through the I30 interchange. It’s a mess right now it’s a total reconstruction of the interchange - plus the rebuild of I635 from TI Blvd to through that interchange and south to Town East Blvd.

Better to come across I20 to the south and hit SH34 in Terrell north to I30 in Greenville.

Or George Bush to I30, to just east of the I30/I635 interchange.

There are other routes to take as well depending on where your start point is, just don’t travel the described roadways that are all under heavy, heavy, construction.

You can avoid most toll roads if you want to go a bit out of the way. Last year we left DFW and went to Bar Harbor Maine. If memory serves me correctly, we only had 2 tolls along the way. One was over a bridge entering NY, the other was on the interstate heading towards Maine from Connecticut. The bridge was $12, and the turnpike in Maine was around $15 each way. We carefully mapped out our route to avoid tolls as much as possible. We saw lots of neat countryside and had a blast. We used an atlas and maps instead of the gps to determine our routes. while driving we used gps, but entered into its specs no tolls. GPS had lots of trouble here because it is designed for quickest most direct routing.

NY Thruway (I90) toll calculator

https://wwwapps.thruway.ny.gov/tollcalculator/

Click "all other vehicles", then 7'6" or higher, then number of axles, and select your start/stop exits

Or use the tables at https://www.thruway.ny.gov/travelers...ls-by-mail.pdf

if you don't have an EZ-Pass and have to pay toll by mail

Truck with 2 axle fifth wheel is 4H rates

Truck with 3 axle fifth wheel is 5H rates

In Nashville if you go thru Ky. pick up I-65 north. I-65 takes you past Mammoth Cave NP. You can run I-65 north to Louisville pick up I-71 to Cincinnati. Run
I-71 north thru Ohio pick up I-90 east.

But I think there is a toll on I-90 somewhere, not sure.

Around Mammoth Cave are several RV parks, being Thousand Trails members we use the TT park, Diamond Caverns, there. Then in Wilmington, Ohio is another TT Park, Wilmington TT.

Around Memphis is a park called Tom Sawyer RV Park, nice park, right on the Mississippi River. We sat there for 3 days and watched the river barge traffic.
