Day trip to Niagara Falls (US side only) & RV parking

While planning a trip from Indiana back to Connecticut in mid-June, I noticed that swinging north to Niagara Falls only adds about 3 hours to our travel time. It's been about 10 years since we've been there and we will have a relative with us who's never seen the falls so we're hoping to make a relatively quick stop there (like 4 or 5 hours).

We've got a 38' class A and one well-behaved dog with us.

From what I've found so far, it seems like the state park offers RV parking in their lot #3. The website says that they're open 24 hours, I'd like to drive during the night to get there early morning. I did see that dogs are not allowed in some areas, wondering if running the generator and A/C in lot 3 during daylight would be a problem?

Any suggestions or thoughts on any aspect of this stop appreciated!

Here are two very informative write-ups on where to stay and what to do with a big rig and a dog!

Taking a trip to the falls in August. Staying at four mile creek state park, on lake Ontario. Very close to the falls. You might want to check it out

I live in Niagara Falls,USA

You would be wise to camp at Four Mile creek State campsite. Your camp pass will get you into free parking at the Falls. Street parking is available for six dollars. I will call the Niagara Tourism and ask about parking with the dog in the RV with the generator running. I have sceen free tour buses that will take you from Fort Niagara in Youngstown to several stops around the Falls. Tomorrow I can look up the Niagara Tourism Bureau information for you. I am sure they have a website and Phone #.

2x agree on Four Mile Creek State Park. Having grown up 25 miles south of Buffalo, visited Niagara Falls many times. So much to see in area, from
both USA & Canada sides. For anyone visiting, recommend more than a couple of hours, esp if just passing through. Three Sisters Island out in middle of falls with Cave of the Winds tour takes you down under the edge of the Falls. The Maid of the Mist boat trip takes you below Falls into the spray. There's the Zoo, Aquarium, helicopter ride, jet boat to Whirlpool, lights on Falls at night, Skylon & Seagram's Towers on Canadian side (remember your passport now days), as well as all the various shops & museums both sides. Down river there's the Mohawk power plant tour as well. Having lived in Western NY all my life, enjoyed with my kids, grands, great grands & many guests will say it's a shame to only spend a quick stop at this Wonder.
