Debating route home to Buffalo from Sarasota

We drove down 77 to 26 to 95.

Thinking want to avoid 95 and Atlanta

Could take 75 to Macon GA then jog over to pick up 77 in Columbia SC

Could take 75 to 10 and angle up to pick up 65N

Appreciate any input

I think that 95 is through Savanna not Atlanta. The route through Atlanta is 85.
From what I've read today Atlanta will be a place to avoid at least through the Summer.
---------------
Transportation officials in Georgia are scrambling to cope with a crisis, after a huge fire caused a bridge on Interstate 85 to collapse in Atlanta on Thursday night.

Gov. Nathan Deal has declared a state of emergency, and with the heavily used road closed in both directions, drivers are being told to find other options — from detours to mass transit.

The shutdown affects a roughly 3-mile portion of I-85, blocking a major artery that runs through the heart of Atlanta. Friday morning, officials said they don't yet know what caused the fire or how long repairs will take.

You are correct.

What I was trying to convey was that I don't want to take 95. I also don't want to route through Atlanta. So was debating those two options.

Thx

When I-85 wasn't closed it still took 2 hours to get through Atlanta and one accident on I-85 through W Virginia can cost another 2 hours. I-95 is fine until you hit DC area. Time your journey so you avoid rush hour around DC.

Go back the way you came. It is the best route. That portion of 95 moves well if you avoid rush hour in the cities.

You could take 95 up to Richmond and then take 64 to cut across to 81 by Staunton ant take that North. You'd avoid Atlanta and DC.
