Once you get on I-95 S, there is a highly rated campground at Roanoke Rapids that according to RV Park Reviews is good for an overnight stop.

That campground fills up quickly, guess how I know. I was 2 hours away, called and they told me "come on, plenty of room" arrived to find sign in driveway "FULL". Luckily Wal-mart at next exit (north bound) and me and about 15-20 others spent night there.
