Denver E-470 tolls for out of state

I have read the webpage for E-470 in the Denver area.

There are no toll booths on this road. The website says they send you a bill within 30 days of travelling the route. It looks like the toll for my intended route would be about $40

If you are out of state, do they, in fact, send you a bill?

Anybody from out of state travelled this route in an RV recently?

$40 = Highway Robbery!

No thanks. This ripoff road would be a natural for us to visit our son on the north side of Denver but we will leave earlier and save our $40.

When I was in that area several years ago looking at motorhomes, one of the private sellers I spoke with suggested using it to get back to I-70. After stopping the 3rd time in a very short distance I asked the toll booth operator how to get off without spending another $5, which seemed to be what they wanted for every 4 miles. Don't remember the answer but have never got back on that Toll way again.

Clipped me for $80.00 a little over a year ago. I called and inquired about this since we were from out of state. They told me this was the standard and also to be expect a non tollbooth toll on I-70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel. Seems to me Colorado is going to pot!

From CO and avoid the toll road, driven right down I-25 durning lunch hour and weekends with out a problem, just miss rush hours in AM and PM and you will be fine.

You didn't say where your headed? Denver final stop or just driving through?

Came in from Wyoming on I-70 then beltway on East side and down to Pueblo about 9am on a Sunday. Five axel's on ground, motorhome with tag axel with car flat towed. Seems a little excessive to me for $80.00. Never stopped, just drove through.

I've been over the I70 Ike tunnel a couple of times in the last year, have not yet received a toll fee, but I did for the other road.

thanks for the info ...

It was encouraging to hear that I-76 and I-25 should be decent if I avoid rush hour ...

Thanks

We just came through that way and decided to avoid the toll road. We were at Buckley AFB in Aurora and we went I-225 to I-70 to I-270 to I-76E. We were traveling on a Sunday morning and traffic was pretty light. The toll road would have been a little shorter but not much.

Thanks for the heads up.

We're planning next years trips right now and the Eisenhower Tunnel was on the list along with some exploring around Denver.

We were in Denver about 12 years ago and as I recall there weren't any decent RV parks. We stayed at one on the east side of the city and it was a dump.

Any good ones there now? Want to see the Coor's brewery too.
