Denver to Key West in May/June
Hi all, our daughter is getting married early June in Key West. We will have 4 weeks to get down there from Denver. Everytime we sit down to plan, we get overwhelmed and quit. First trip after retirement so we're so excited. Been to Galveston and New Orleans before so want to skip them. Any ideas or suggestions on routes or stops would be appreciated!

Sounds like a fun, and relatively easy trip, and you have more than enough time to get there.
I-70 to ST Louis, down through Nashville, Atlanta and right down the middle of Florida to Orlando and then I guess around Miami to highway 1. The furthest I've ever been is to Orlando. Roughly 2200 miles. The last time we went 2200 miles, we took 5 driving days and 3 down days to get there. But if you wanted to soak up the whole 4 weeks, oh boy, there's lots to see on the way.
I would definitely slow down from St. Louis to the bottom of Tennessee.
I'd whiz through Atlanta, and slow down again in Florida, depending on what you want to see there.. towards orlando you have to make a choice.. head to miami, or head to tampa (but eventually, you will have to head back over the state to Miami area. I'd slow down there and eat all the Cuban food you could stuff in one guys body. Man those cuban sandwiches with black beans and rice are 100% drool worthy..

On the way back, I'd hook Memphis for a spell, through Arkansas stopping at Hot springs for a spell, then up through Tulsa/Broken Arrow to rejoin 70.
Just for kicks.

Depending on which route you choose, here are some good RV Parks to consider:
1) Memphis - Graceland RV Park
2) Nashville - Two Rivers Campground
3) Ocala FL. - Ocala North RV Park
4) Tampa - Lazy Days RV Park (this one is a must see)
5) Kendall (Miami) - Miami Everglades RV Park
6) Marathon (Keys) - Jolly Roger RV Park
7) Key West - Boyd's RV Park

Tennessee is BEAUTIFUL, and you probably should make the obligatory run to Pigeon Forge Day trip by car maybe depending on where you go.

Definitely get a Sun Pass for Florida tolls, or check if you already have a pass that it works in Florida. Get on the Turnpike as soon as you can and take it all the way to Florida City, avoiding I-95 at all costs. Be aware that once you are in the Keys, RV friendly gas stations are few and far between. However, Florida City to Key West and back is under 250 miles so with planning you shouldn't need to fill up.
