Depending on your route you may see some fairly thick smoke here or there from the fires in Montana, Idaho, Washington, and British Columbia, notably at times near Missoula. At times near Missoula, Bitterroot valley, Superior, and Arlee you may see significant air activity so just watch out for other motorists trying to watch and drive at the same time and doing dumb things. Other than that traffic and pretty much everything is moving along just fine. I'm told that tourism is going quite well at Glacier this year. No large fires impacting Glacier Park area at this time, Waterton has closed off backcountry activity as of yesterday because of extreme dry conditions. If you were planning on going around thru Seeley Lake change your route. You can keep up with the road and fire status at
Montana's Official State Website - Home all in one place. You will have a great trip.
