Devils tower > YNP
Hi, we are heading west this summer and I'd appreciate some advice on getting to bridge bay campground from devils tower. More importantly, what routes to avoid. I will be in a 31 ft A towing an suv. Thanks, Jim

We were out that way in 2015, going through the Badlands, Blackhills, to Devil's Tower, and then on to Cody and YNP and beyond. Awesome trip. When we went to Devil's Tower, we decided to stay in Sundance at the Mountain View RV Park and do a day trip to the tower. That way we also stayed closer to I-90 for continuing West. Nice CG and close enough to the tower for a full day visit. From there we took I-90 to Buffalo were we exited to take 16 to Ten Sleep and then up to Cody. 16 is a great and very manageable drive that you will want to video for future sharing if you have the ability to do so. Cody has a nice CG right in town and a wonderful museum that you should not miss. We stayed 3 nights in Cody and had a great time. From there you just head West to the east gate of YNP unless you have other stops you want to make from there. Great drive and places to see/stay. I'd love to do it again myself. We were in a 37' Class A (gas) and towing. No problems at all on any of the routes we took.

From Buffalo take 16 to Worland then north on 20 to Greybull and west to Cody and drive through the park.

Yeah, he's right. I was doing my reply from memory on my phone at work and forgot those details.

You can also go up to Ranchester and take 14/14A over the Bighorns. It's a steep climb, but scenic. I like 16 as well, it's not quite as steep, probably a bit better choice for a large rig, but 14 is doable and I see RVs on it all the time when I'm up there(pretty local to me). Both are very scenic routes though, both have places to pull over going up and coming back down. If you take 14 up then I would avoid going down 14 to shell, take 14A instead and go down into Lovell.
