You really shouldn't have any issues finding gas. Distances are great in the West so when you hit the halfway mark start looking seriously. Don't wait until you're too low. Keep in mind those gas apps don't include 'all' of the stations.

I think they call Rt. 550 the Million Dollar Highway. I drove it once in a car. Ain't no way in you know where would I ever drive that with my RV. Colorado doesn't believe in guard rails and there are some very steep drop offs. I'm sure you've already been told this (I didn't bother to read all the replies). I'd drive around to Nebraska before I'd go over that highway with an RV.
