East 190 From Lake Livingston Tx to Slidell La.

I'll be leaving Lake Livingston the day after Memorial Day heading to Slidell La to visit an old friend. I'll be in kind of a hurry cause I need to be in Manchester Tn on June 2nd. I'll head up I-59 towards Manchester Tn.

The reason I ask is because 190 looks like it might be just as fast as I-10 and 190 looks like it might be more enjoyable.

Thanks much for your thoughts.... LeeB

we ran US190/LA12/TX12 between Baton Rouge and Beaumont several years ago and did find it better, sometimes a lot better, sometimes marginally better in terms of road conditions, than I-10. If it were me making your trip, I'd drop off of 190 west of Baton Rouge down to I-12. We found I-12 to be a much, much better road than I-10.

I live on 190 in west Louisiana when going to Baton Rouge from here it is a coin toss to take us190 or la26 to i10 in Jennings then i-10 across. Either way I would pick up i12 east of baton Rouuge

Ps note the i10 i12 interchange is often a traffic jam in Baton Rouge

Issac is correct about dropping off 190 to I-12 EAST of Baton Rouge. That's what I meant to write in my reply.
