East from El Paso to San Antonio
We will be traveling east from El Paso to San Antonio around the first of March. We are not in a rush so I am wondering if we are better going I-10 or US90? How about some suggestions of places to stop? We are considering Big Bend NP, how about other places?

YUP--turn south on US 90 at Van Horn; stops at: Marfa, Ft Davis, UT observatory [star gazing], Alpine, Terlingua, Lajitas, Big Bend NP, Marathon, Langtry [Judge Roy Bean], Seminole Canyon SP, Del Rio, Castroville .....enjoy the solitude!!!!! or stay on I-10, stops at: Caverns of Sonora, Kerrville, and Fredricksburg.
Either way, stop and see Jan and Dean in Garden Ridge [smile]
Better yet--wait for the Alpine Heritage Rally in Oct and see it all with the group.

Take 90. Stop in Lajitas for a week and relax.

I agree with all the above. One more to add and one of the most beautiful and popular state parks in Texas is Garner SP in Concan.

It sounds like the 90 route will be best. Have to stop in Alpine[emoji3]
Will let you know about Garden Ridge, we have a reservation at Goose Island that will determine how much time we have, thanks for the invite.
Have to decline Oct rally, will be finishing trip to Canadian Maritimes at that point and want to spend a little time on the Cape before heading south with the birds.

Dave-
If you change your mind and go I-10, consider stopping at San Solomon Springs (Toyahvale/Balmorreah, TX) and The National Museum of the Pacific War (Fredericksburg, TX). We camped at the Springs and Johnson Creek RV Resort (Ingram), respectively, when we visited those towns.
