Fall Foliage North East

I am planning for an east coast fall colors trip from So Cal to as far as Quebec City. What routes would people suggest to have stored on the laptop. I know that colors are weather dependent and alternate routes is what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

You may want to target the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. There are many thing to see and experience. The area that you are talking about is pretty BIG .... Ultimately I would wind up on the I91 and head north to Derby Center, VT and continue up to Drummondville, QC and bang a right on QC20 and head up to Quebec.

Thanks Driver. It looks like we will need to be back in So Cal mid October so I think I will skip the Quebec segment. We have been there before and prefer new scenes. I agree that the Blue Ridge Parkway is a marvel. We have not done the entire length and this may be the year.

While you are up on the Parkways, the animals have no fear of man, the deer will almost walk up to you.

Take the time to stop at the amazing Luray Caverns and if you are a buff, the New Market Battlefield is not that far West from Luray.

If you are still out this way in October ..... well see my sig!

Depending on your timing and direction, consider Routes #26, 302, and 4 in Maine.

Thanks to both of you. Now it is a matter of connecting some of the dots on the map with what happens with the weather. I better plug in the workhorse service centers, just in case the recall actually happens.
