Florida to Gainesville, Texas

We are planning a trip from Ocala, Florida to Gainesville, Texas, with the uncertainty of traveling thru the various states due to this virus. I was thinking of going I-10 to I-55 in Louisiana to I-20 at Jackson, Miss then to Shreveport (hopefully for a night rest) then back track to I-49 to Texarkana, Arkansas then 82 west to Gainesville. This is of course dependent on travel thru the aforementioned states. I understand no one knows the future, but is this doable at present? This would give me some idea of planning our trip.. TIA

Geez why travel that far when Gainesville is 30 miles north of you right now ;-> We live near there.

We traveled 82 all the way across from MS to US287 in TX just for a different route. It had a lot of rough spots but the TX section was the best. We usually take I10 to Mobile then follow US98 up to Hattiesburg then 49 to Jackson. You can catch I-55 up to 82 from there or take I20 west. Anything to avoid I-10 in Louisiana tho some people are saying it's better now.

We have done this route several times.
We do I-10 all the way to I-49N to I-30W. At state route 69 go north to route 82 then west to Gainsville. 69 is a good road, but 2 lane.
The roads thru MS are terrible, windy, hilly, many towns, many rough but least distance.
