Has anyone done this route to VA Beach from 95?
We plan on leaving Selma NC on a Sunday morning to VA Beach. Should I be worried about beach traffic? Next part of the Journey is:
Staying at the KOA VA Beach then crossing CBB to Lewes Ferry (reservations made) to Cape May for 2 days then on to Long Island NY via GWB and TNB to Clearview to LIE.

The route should be fine. If you can, take 301N outside of Kenly and then 64E to 17N. I hate driving on Raceway 95 and with the 4th of July a coming Interstate 95 will be a mess. You will have a little bit of stop and go traffic on 301N but at least you won't have to deal with the left lane drivers.

Are you planning on going to the Oceanfront over the 4th? Is so, plan plenty of time. The Oceanfront will be crowded. I live less than 5 miles south of the resort strip. The wife and I don't go anywhere near the Oceanfront during tourist season. It is too crowded for us.

While in town, check out the Green Flash brewery. It isn't far from the KOA.

We did the 64 east from 95 to 17 to va beach and it was a great ride. Went on north from there on the cbb and that was beautiful. On up on 13 and 113 to the lewes ferry to cape may for a few days. Then up the gap. All in a 35 class a. Great way to go north to NY (eastern ny)
