Getting to Navarros Shop in Los Algodones
I have not seen anything recent (since 2020). Has anyone been to Navarros shop in a large class A recently? Reading old accounts, people went into Los Algodonas through the Andrade crossing and had to slowly go through town with someone on their roof, lifting cables crossing the road so they did not hang up on the rv air conditioners. Has anyone dealt with this recently? How has it worked? Has anyone tried to go in to Navarros through San Luis (I hear that is a bad road.)? Our RV GPS and Google maps is no help looking at the route.
Thanks,
Les

If you're using the shop I assume you have to make an appointment. Why not call them? Or an email if they have one?

The Mexican side of Los Algadones border crossing has been reconfigured with a new building and is NOT big rig friendly. Once through, traffic is re directed west along the border wall on a dirt road to a very tight left turn. It's easier to cross at San Luis. Hwy 2 from San Luis to Los Algadones is bumpy but otherwise OK to drive. There's a toll some days, some days not.

Thank you so much.
When you say Mexican side, do you mean going into Mexico or leaving Mexico? I know coming out of Mexico at Andrade is too tight and too short. Is going in bad too now? (I heard you had to worry about low hanging wires through town). We have 38ft and 12'8" tall.
I can't get our mapping program to even show us the way from San Luis to Los Algodones. What route do you suggest?

I just used Google Maps to do the route via San Luis:
From Yuma I-8 west to Exit 166
South on 186 onto Miguel Hidalgo which becomes Calle 2
Right on Av.A
Rt on C. Sexta to AV.Internacional
Navarros is at the corner of C.Sexta & AV.Internacional

Yes - That takes you through the Andrade crossing. I cannot get Google maps to take you through the San Luis crossing and to Los Algodones through Mexico.

Boy, you've got me stumped!
Why would you want to go way out of your way by going via 95 out of Yuma, AZ to the San Luis crossing and then back north to Navarros Shop which is right at the border in Algodonas?
I think you really need to call the shop for best directions. If they do painting for U.S. visitors surely they get there with no issues. Good luck!

I would prefer to go through Andrade, just trying to see if it is feasible. I know coming out of Mexico to the US it is not. Just trying to find someone who has done it lately.

Even though the shop said it would be fine, it looked really tight when we went in the Jeep
We chickened out of going through the Andrade crossing into Mexico with our 36PDQ Camelot and went through San Luis. It be was OK. Going through the center lane is best. The road from 2 to Los Algodones is rough with patches, some potholes, and topes.
