Going North on I25

This might be a better board for this question
I'm headed up from El Paso to Denver into Montana then Seattle
I was wondering how interstate 25 was going north
I'm in a 39' DP w/ toad and have never traveled this road before
Sounds poetic

I live off 25 and travel it often. Some things to consider. They are widening 25 from larkspur all the way to castlerock NB and SB - it's 2 lanes with chicanes and stop and go when traffic is heavy, plan for it. I would travel it very early morning, early weekends or late night. Any other time will be a hassle especially if the weather is bad.

In denver, DO NOT TAKE 470 east toll road around unless you are ready for an 80 to 100 toll bill. If you do want to take the toll around. Register for an account pay the initial deposit and get an expresstoll transponder and it will be half the cost plus you can use the express lanes on the north end of Denver on i 25 as well.

Other than that, plan for crazy weather if you are planning trips in spring through Colorado. I just got 18 in of snow 2 days ago.

Travel from College Station Texas to Billings MT often. I25 is good from Raton to where you connect to I 90 in Buffalo Wyoming. I 90 good all the way through Montana. We have an Allegro Bus 37AP. Cummins 450. Agree with staying off 470 toll in Denver if you come in from Limon. About $40 for Motorhome and towed. But definitely faster.

I25 from Sante Fe to Pueblo CO is one of my favorite stretches of Interstate highway. Lightly traveled between those two towns (as there's not a lot of truck traffic) and beautiful scenery. Gets very busy around Albuquerque, Colorado Springs and Denver though.

There's a mountain pass (Raton Pass) between Raton NM and Trinidad CO but it's nothing too bad. There's an RV park right at the top of the pass with great views. They have a restaurant too, but last time I was through there the restaurant was closed.
