Hello from Tennessee!

I am a new member to this forum, but am an experienced RVer. We are planning a "bucket list" type trip from Tn to Ft Bragg, Ca and up the coast into Oregon.
Planning this trip brings up a few questions about road conditions (i.e., mountain passes, narrow roads, etc) from Reno over to Sacramento and up to Ft Bragg. Then...Hwy 1 up the coast to Hwy 101.
We travel in a 35 ft gasser pulling a Jeep Wrangler with our two German Shepherd dogs.
Any insights on travelling the northern Ca and Oregon roads???

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Hopefully someone will be along to help with that.

I would suggest that you create a signature showing the make and model of your RV. It will help folks to answer questions you may have in the future. Look at post #30 in the link below that tells you how to do that.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

You should not have to much trouble getting to southern CA on I-40. Only a few long grades. Problem starts in CA. Used to live there but we avoid it now. Traffic is awful. Going from south to OR is or was bad. Better to take a more eastern route and avoid the Grape Vine climb. Then go to coast.

Plan is to take Hwy 50 across NV to Reno, then on to coast...however, what is best route to get to CA coast around Ft Bragg?
