Help! Harbor Springs Michigan to Oregon coast!

I'm looking for advice on the best way to get from Northern Michigan to the Oregon coast. We will start the journey in August.

My wife wants to see Montana as well.

We have a gas coach (6 speeds) but it's a smaller one (34 feet) we do have a toad. Total length is 50 feet.

We want to see the country in all it's summer beauty. We prefer to stay on Highways when we travel long distances but don't mind venturing off either.

What are you recommendations for places we should visit and routes to take?

Traveling across on US2 is a nice drive and very doable with your rig. We followed eastbound with a 35' gasser and toad a couple of years ago. It's certainly the best way to see Montana, including Glacier. Admittedly there are some desirable placed to visit in southern Montznna too.

This route won't take you directly to the Oregon coast.

You can follow US2 to it's western terminus in Everett, WA then cross over to the Olympic Peninsula and catch 101 to Oregon.

OR

You could drop down from Spokane to I84 and follow the Columbia River West to Portland, which would position you for continuing West to the coast on a variety of routes.

You don't say where on the coast, which leaves it open to a multitude of routes that are suitable for your rig.

I agree, go across US 2. Ashland, WI has a city RV park on Lake Superior where you can see wonderful sun rises and sun sets. The Hotel Chequamegon has a great restaurant and you can walk there from the campsite. If you stop don't miss the North Coast Chowder, a friend stopped in last week and confirmed it's still yummy!
