Help with travel times

We are planning our first extended trip with the dolly and toad. Plan to leave Detroit on June 22 to head for the badlands on I-94 and I-90.
How mush time should this take. Then heading to Yellowstone/Grizzly RV park. Again, how long should this drive take?
Thanks for any input.

I can do 500-550 miles on a pushing it day, stops only for fuel and lunch. 400 miles is a moderate day, and less than that is easy.

It all depends on how hard you want to drive.

It depends on how many miles you usually travel in a day. For us, take the total distance in miles and divide by 225 miles/day. We add an extra day for every three or four, so we're not moving every day, unless we're in a hurry (some would say that at 225 miles per day we're by definition not in a hurry). You'll have to find your own comfortable daily travel distance.

Everyone drives at a different pace with a RV. It depends on you and how much time you have for this trip.

300 miles/day would be tops for us and we rarely did that many. We stopped by 3pm so didn't need reservations. Then we had time to relax or even go into town for dinner. But then... we weren't on a time schedule and we rarely drove interstates. You can see more of the country by using secondary roads. If there were some interesting sites to explore in the area we'd spend a couple nights there.

If you're on a tight schedule then you'll have to put in many more miles per day.

Map - Maps

I would guess you will be lucky to average 50 mph, - 1,600 miles to Cody so 32 hours of driving - so just plug in your hours behind the wheel to figure it out.

None of this takes into account the 4-5 hours it might take to get through Chicago. .

So probably 25 hours to Custer and the Black Hills of SD.

Had a guy tell me that would be a two day trip to Cody, then talked to someone else they thought it was more in line with 7-10 days - so just depends on how you Drive.

Best of Luck,
