Mountain Falls in Lake Toxaway is a very nice Class A ownership resort, which you can rent a spot. Very close to Cashiers...... Also a reasonable drive into Asheville.
The older section down below seems a bit more appropriate for renters, as the improved patio areas are generally available for the renters to use.
The newer top section has great views, but most sites that are available for rent have not had any improvements (but you'll be amazed at what a bunch of Prevost owners have "invested" in thier casitas).
If you go, ask them for thier recommend route to get there. And follow thier directions - some of the roads in the area are not very RV friendly.
There is also The Great Outdoors in Franklin, NC and River Vista in Dillard, GA (close to Highlands). We prefer River Vista and will be headed there is a few weeks to break the coach out of hibernation.
It doesn't take more than an afternoon to see either Cashiers or Highlands. You are also reasonably close to the south side of Smokey Mtn. Natl. Park. Plenty of nice trails / parks and waterfalls to explore, White Side Mtn. near Cashiers is a favorite of many.
And while at first glance, it may seem a short drive between Dillard or Frankin to Lake Toxaway, the RV recommended route is quite a bit longer.
Regards

If you happen to make it up as far as Franklin, N.C. and are looking for a great restaurant, check out Cafe REL. It's on Main street and not very visible as it basically shares the building with a gas station called The Hot Spot. As I understand it the owner was a chef in NYC at one time (at a five star restaurant) and got tired of the hustle-bustle of the big city, and moved to Franklin and opened Cafe Rel. Check the hours out before you make the drive though as they are not what you might expect.
And while you are in the area, if you like waterfalls, that area has 20+ within a 50 mile or so radius. Whitewater falls (south of Highland) drops something like 417 feet if I remember correctly. Enjoy the area, it's beautiful, the people are incredibly friendly, and the waterfalls are spectacular.

Cashiers highlands
Try to get there from the east. Less miles on the twists. 64 from franklin is so twisty you feel like you will run over you own license plate. Some of the rock walls hang out where you can,t stay in you lane. Suggest you unhook your toad. Beautiful place once you get there..

In over a Million miles this is the only road I had to stop and back up on to get around a Narrow Curve. (Yes it was a Tractor Trailer coming in the other Direction - TIGHT)
But it is an Awesome Drive -- ... ... .. . .
