Highway 22 Oregon

We’re going to be headed to Bend from McMinnville in a few days. The GPS wants us to go to Salem, then take 22 to 20/126 through Sisters and down to Bend. I haven’t been on that part of 22 and was wondering if there were any problems or issues I should be aware of in a 45’er towing a Canyon? Is there a better way?

You can take 99 south out of Mac picking up 22 at Richreal. 12 miles across the bridge follow the signs. The worst part is the 7 miles thru down town Salem. From crossing I5 you have about 40 miles of 4 lane. From there its a decent drive.

Thanks all. 99 to Rickreal looks good. Going through Salem isn’t fun, but, with patience, is doable. My concern is 22 east of Salem. Sounds like it’s fine.

When you cross the bridge into Salem, be in the far right hand lane for the off ramp to Albany. Once down the off ramp get and stay in the far left lane. You follow this all the through, past the hospital to the stop light at The Ram Pub restaurant. This puts you in the outside turn lane (Right turn). Turn right and get ready for the on ramp for mission street on your left. Once over the ramp get and stay in the left hand lane until you get past the Lancaster exit.

Never have to change lanes, keeps you clear of turning traffic and the only thing you have worry about is idiots cutting in front of you getting on to mission. I tow this year round to see family in Prineville.
