Highway 26

Does anyone know if highway 26 in Nebraska from Bridgeport to Ogallala NE is safe for RV? We will be towing a 40ft FW.
If there is any low overhangs along this scenic route.

As a U.S. highway, it doesn't have any tight places. I've driven that route from Ogallala, through Scottsbluff, Casper, and all the way to Jackson, WY. more than a few times. Lots of great history and sights along the way.

Not only is it safe ... there are some nice sights along the way ... just SE of Lewellen you will cross the North Platte River and head up a canyon known as Ash Hollow ... it is now a State Park .... there are two things to see there ... the visitors center and Windlass Hill (the pioneers lowered their wagon using ropes to hold the wagon back as they descended into the floor of the canyon (there is a 1/4 mile walk to see the actual wagon ruts) ... notice all the cowboy boots on top of the fence post ... locals have been putting their worn out boots on the posts for a couple of decades (at least)

After you climb out of the canyon will be travelling across large fields ... this time of year you should be seeing wheat nearly ready to be harvested.

If you watch carefully you will be able to see Lake McConaughy in a few places ... it is formed by the Kingsley Dam across the North Platte River not far from Ogallala

I have travelled this road many times ... I grew up on a farm near Lisco ... I visit this areae yearly.
