Highway 49 between Jackson and Hattiesburg, MS
Is this highway still in bad shape? I haven’t been on it in several years.

The HWY is in good shape. Traveled several time in the past year. Several miles of HWY 49 from Collins to Hattiesburg is being repaved and south of Hattiesburg. There is no stoppage just reduce speed zones. There's probably more traffic on the HWY now. I wouldn't have a problem driving the HWY from Jackson to Gulfport.

Was there a couple of months ago. Lots of construction. Road is being improved, but there is still lots to improve.
