Route 66 Needles to Kingman.... my wonderful (younger) brother said it was a great road. He forgot to tell me he rode it on his M/C
.
Oatman was our point of no return coming in from the south. We didn't turn around
We made it through without any damage, but the one curve by the mine had numerous scrapes on the pavement from vehicles bottoming out, and we used almost ALL of the pavement. After that curve Patty asked that I unhook the toad
, we dropped from 55' to 36'
. We had driven through the worst already.
We were told that the week before we came through, a MH bottomed out and put his genset into the radiator on his rig. He had to be towed out.
The old gas station north of Oatman on 66 is a great nostalgic stop, if you are going that way don't miss it. Look for the tame Roadrunner too!!
We wished we had more time to explore 66 in Oklahoma, but we will have to save that for another trip.
A trip with us is always an adventure
