Holbrook to Mesa AZ

Can anyone tell me how the road is from Holbrook to Mesa AZ taking AZ 377 to 277 to 260 to 87.
I'm pulling a 40' Mobile Suites 5th wheel, traveling mid October.

very doable. we run it every year from Mesa to Holbrook in our 40' class A towing a Jeep Liberty, about 55' total length overall. 377 is a bit rough but otherwise it's a good route. 4-lane from Payson to Mesa. check local conditions with ADOT for construction, closures due to fire, etc.

it's just fine! this is a major route between the phoenix / mesa area and i-40.

77, 377, and 277 are basically flat two lane roads with some pull outs. use them to get to heber where you will take 260 west. 260 is mixed with portions being 2 lane and other portions being 4 lane. there will be one downgrade west of forest lakes. the downgrade is 4 lane so gear down and stay in the right lane. once you get to payson there will be a couple of traffic signals. then take 87 south down to mesa. this part is all 4 lane divided hwy. again there will be a couple of downgrades.

the downgrades are inevitable as you will be at or near 7,000 in holbrook and mesa is about 1,300 feet. enjoy the drive as you will go through several different climate and plant zones.

Avoid Sundays if possible. The traffic backup entering Payson is often pretty lengthy and time consuming.
